Funny factoid about me, I am not a morning person. Dustin, my team, my friends I’ve groomed for at horse shows, they can all tell you it’s best to just let me furiously leap out of bed, prepare for the day and get out the door in relatively silence. I don’t drink coffee, my caffeine of choice (Diet Coke) does nothing to alleviate my anti-morning attitude. BUT, if it’s for a photo shoot… I’m there. I don’t know why but just chasing that morning sunrise knowing I have a camera in my hand and wonderful people to photograph, I come alive for those mornings.

And I’m always excited when a good friend turns out to be game for an early morning with me. I’ve known Dorian for a few years. We met through horse shows and became friends over a shared sense of humor and love for these majestic (and sometimes not so majestic) creatures. I was so excited to get to photograph her small herd!

I finally got to meet Nick, who was new to me, but he showed up ready for the camera. I may be somewhat obsessed with her big red guy, Fellow. Who can resist a big chestnut with chrome and a fun attitude to match? I know I can’t! Then there’s Varina who absolutely knows how beautiful she is. To wrap up the morning, we showed some love for our little buddy Frederick. Such a fun morning spent with the best!
